There is an option for an extended module equipping spokespeople in media and message management during crisis.

Media management during crisis – full day course
Applying the learnings from the half day outcomes, participants learn the art of impactful story telling under pressure or in a crisis. Every organisation will face a crisis at some point. Understanding how to get ahead of the crisis messaging and the steps to take is important for organisation spokespeople.

- Gain an understanding of a media crisis
- Know the early proactive steps to take in a crisis
- Gain an understanding of how emotions and misunderstanding drive messaging in a crisis
- Learn how to keep calm and control your messaging under pressure across a variety of platforms, from radio to podcasts, print and live TV interviews.

The aims of the course are to:
- Understand how a media crisis plays out and the roles the community, media and competitors play in a crisis
- Explore the early and proactive steps to take when you believe your organisation is in a crisis
- Understand to shape your key messaging so that you don’t play the blame game and lead with facts
- Understand the variety of media platforms and how to shape your interview and key messaging to suit.
