Communication Link's effective engagement strategies have ensured that the new Gungahlin suburb of Kenny will reflect the community's vision, helping to create a thriving and inclusive neighbourhood.
Communication Link worked with the ACT Suburban Land Agency to lead an extensive engagement program to ensure the new Gungahlin suburb of Kenny reflects the community's vision for a thriving and inclusive neighbourhood.
Through meaningful consultation with residents, stakeholder groups and students, we collected over 4000 unique pieces of data, ensuring the future suburb’s design aligns with the diverse needs and aspirations of its future residents.
Our tailored engagement activities ranged from workshops and targeted outreach to online surveys and social media campaigns, reaching over 15,000 people.
We worked closely with the Suburban Land Agency to test and refine the Kenny Place Vision, which outlines key design principles, suburb character, and planned amenities. This included a strong focus on eco-friendly design, diverse housing options, Ngunnawal culture, and essential community infrastructure.
By prioritising open communication, transparency, and collaboration, we facilitated a process that ensured broad community participation. This feedback has played a vital role in shaping Kenny’s master plan, resulting in positive contributions from residents, businesses and stakeholders.
The insights gathered have informed a suburb design that embeds community aspirations at its core. Kenny is set to become a vibrant and inclusive community, built on the values and input of its people, demonstrating the power of community-driven urban planning.
