As a planned city, Canberra's planning system has always been of considerable interest to Canberrans. We've supported the ACT Government over the past two years to reform the planning system through delivering engagement, communication and training services.
The Planning System Review and Reform Project is about delivering better outcomes for the growing capital and its development while maintaining the character valued by Canberrans. The reforms include a new Planning Act, new district strategies and a new Territory Plan. This delivers an outcomes focussed planning system for the ACT.
Communication Link was engaged by the Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate (EPSDD) to develop and deliver an extensive engagement program to ensure Canberrans had a voice in shaping the future of Canberra. The engagement program took place over two years and included two phases, with more than 60 workshops and community pop-ups across Canberra.
We continue to support this project through developing a learning program and delivering training to the community, the building sector and specialists who will assess applications as part of the new system.
